Corporate social responsibility

Community Initiatives which Soar Build have been involved with include:

  • Support for Parson’s Cross Forum
  • Contributions to local newsletters
  • Support for displaced apprentices
  • Working with the Construction Design Centre in Sheffield
  • Providing job placements for schools
  • Engagement with the Working Rite initiative to provide employment for young people
  • Liaison and Collaboration with other local social enterprises such as Manor & Castle in Sheffield and BEST in Nottingham.
  • Involvement in local community events for Parkway Housing Association
  • Sheffield Homes and ACIS Housing Association, Affinity Sutton, Charnwood, Gedling
  • Sponsorship of the Diversity Award at the 2009 and 2012 Environmental award Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire awards sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Building
  • Representation at Westminster to support the Sheffield Homes policies at a national level
  • Representation at job fairs where small and medium sized enterprises are required for a number of clients
  • Work in partnership with Job Centre plus and local colleges to give site experience for Sector Based academy schemes
  • Engagement with the Future Jobs Fund
  • Engagement with Train to Gai
  • The support and engagement with Local trade suppliers
  • The support and engagement with locally based training providers
  • Working with Nottingham City Homes and their NCH Jobs Fund
  • Working with Job Centre plus and their Experience Construction Scheme
  • Sponsorship of the CIOB 2013 Environmental award
